The Westfjords.
While driving in the Westfjords you will see epic unspoiled nature and ancient landscapes. We recommend you visit “the Jewel of the West fjords” the waterfall Dynjandi, pink-sand beaches of Rauðasandur, birdwatching cliffs of Látrabjarg and try to find puffins in natural environment.
The roads of the area are not as regularly maintained as in the rest of the country during wintertime. Circuitous roads of the WestFjords are covered by ice and snow during the winter, and mainly accessible only from May to October.
